| Marc Lamkin |
| Marc was born in Louisiana amongst the heat, snakes and alligators and lived to talk about it. After completing a degree in Sociology from Louisiana Tech, he left Louisiana to roam the country working various jobs , none of which related to his degree in Sociology. After working in a green bean factory in Washington State, a jelly bean plant in New Jersey, door to door selling in California and an underwear mill in Louisiana, he realized it was time to stop roaming and start focusing on a career. He attended the University of Missouri School of Journalism where he earned a degree in photojournalism. After working at newspapers, he then began working for himself creating images for advertising, editorials, annual reports, architects and himself. It was architectural photography that grabbed his heart. His father was an architect but in Marc's youth, taking pictures of buildings had never occured to him. It was the sixties after all, where 'the mind began to wander and things started to drift.' After taking a photo of a commercial building for a business magazine (a really bad picture), he understood where his focus needed to be. Almost thirty years later he still appreciates a good design and a good photograph documenting that design. While taking pictures for architects, interior designers, construction companies and developers fills most of his schedule, he still takes the time to photograph whatever catches his eye. |
